Clear PET Cans for Cold Brew: Visibility as a Shelf Tool, Built in Our Factory

Cold brew coffee lives and dies on appearance. A deep, almost black-brown says “bold and intense.” A lighter amber says “smooth and mellow.” Hide that color behind opaque aluminum and you have thrown away your best sales tool.

The color-is-quality signal

For cold brew, the liquid is the proof. A clear PET can turns the product’s own appearance into free advertising on the shelf and in every unboxing video. That is why transparent packaging can lift purchase intent by up to 30% for visually driven drinks.

How our plant builds for cold brew

We run food-grade PET with high optical clarity and a wall thick enough to protect the seam but thin enough to stay light. For cold brew specifically:

  • No light-struck flavor risk from the can itself — PET is inert and BPA-free.
  • Stable seam so a nitro or lightly carbonated cold brew stays pressurized.
  • 250–330ml sizes that match the RTD coffee occasion.

Why not glass or aluminum

Glass looks premium but weighs ~200g at 330ml and breaks 3–5% in transit. Aluminum is light but hides the brew. A clear PET can lands at under 29g, breaks almost never, and shows the coffee.

The PET beverage packaging market is on track from $79.62B in 2026 to $103.68B by 2031. Cold brew and other premium RTD coffees are a fast slice of that because the format finally fits the product.
